Scattered Black & Whites

Are you still waiting for the Doctor?

Apparently Dr. House is a medical genius, specializing in infectious diseases and nephrology. So why does it take him and his team at least four of five attempts before setting the correct diagnosis, more often than not obtained by pure luck? Just wondering…

I spent most of my Tuesday morning at the E.R. waiting room, while my 16-week pregnant wife was being treated for stomach pains. When I say treated, I mean she was taken into the E.R., dressed into a hospital gown and hooked up to an IV. The gynecologist on duty saw her around lunch time, about 4 hours after we arrived. Good thing health care is free in Belgium. Or wait… it’s not; we pay a couple of hundred euros a year for it.

In case you’re wondering; my wife is feeling better, the baby is doing well and is as ugly as its dad.
